The Shelby County Shooting Sports Association was established in 2003 to teach gun safety and marksmanship skills and to promote the shooting sports in Alabama. We began by teaching the Boy Scouts of America Rifle Merit Badge and a 4H Rifle program. We offer the following programs:
NRA Training Courses for youths and adults.
BSA Merit Badge and Venture Crew Shooting Sports Elective Programs (NRA training courses meet or exceed BSA requirements)
BSA - 2010 GAC Smallbore Rifle Championship
Competitive youth rifle & pistol teams for ages 8-20.
Air rifle and pistol matches for youths and adults.
